My Flower Service uses the highest quality plant/flower material available. The growers that we work with produce award winning, proven selections of flowers and materials. Our knowledgeable staff understands proper placement of flowers, their culture and growth habits as well as sun and environmental requirements. This makes an enormous difference in the finished product. Our goal is to maximize the potential of each flower/planting scheme as that particular seasons progresses. Our staff is made up of creative, artistic individuals with knowledge in design and color schemes in addition to their knowledge in Horticulture.

My Flower Service is owned and operated by Shannon J. Adams. Shannon attended University of Cincinnati's College of Applied Science, and has worked in the horticulture field for over a decade. Shannon and her team of professionals build long lasting relationships with their clients. We pride ourselves on the appearance and beauty of your flower scheme, and look for the relationship to grow in its intended manner as it is a reflection of our effort and the service we provide.

Company History

Shannon has been featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer's Home and Style section on multiple occasions. Shannon operated a successful business in this industry for over 5 years called Creatively Nann - recognized niche as the professional window box/container garden expert. She chose to change the name to My Flower Service in 2008.

Part-time Indoor Plant Maintenance Lead

My Flower Service specializes in window boxes, container gardens and container landscaping for both residential & commercial clients.

We have a strong emphasis on image – from the quality we deliver on our customers’ properties, to our facilities and our people. We strive to “hire for life” by offering competitive pay and growth opportunities. Compensation based on experience. Bi-weekly pay.

Part-time Indoor Plant Maintenance Lead Job Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with indoor plants is required for this position.
  • This team member is responsible for maintaining specific accounts on our regularly scheduled route.
  • Candidate will be making adjustments, watering, pruning, fertilizing, planting/replacing indoor plants as required to maintain healthy and appealing overall appearance.
  • Applicant must be familiar with a wide variety of indoor plants and be capable of making recommendations based on customer requests as well as plant care requirements.
  • Candidate must have a flexible schedule to accommodate client and plant needs.
  • This applicant must be organized, punctual, possess excellent customer service skills, keep detailed job sheets, dress and act in a professional manner.
  • A model candidate will be creative, passionate, willing to learn and assist other team members. Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others is crucial.
  • This individual must have an excellent driving record and be willing to work alone at times.

Hours and Compensation:

Lead Installer

We are looking for quality individuals for team leaders, team members, general laborers and watering/maintenance crews for our Newtown, Ohio location! Both full and part time positions available.

We have a strong emphasis on image – from the quality we deliver on our customers’ properties, to our facilities and our people. Lead Installer Job Requirements:

This particular role requires the candidate to wear many hats – responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • This team member is responsible for hanging our window boxes and replacing container gardens for our new clients.
  • This team member installs micro-irrigation systems to the window boxes and container gardens.
  • Ideal candidate will have handyman and carpentry experience, be highly detail oriented, conscientious, produce quality work, and go the extra mile for our customers.
  • You must be comfortable working on ladders as some of the window boxes are installed on the 2nd story.
  • Ideal candidates will have some basic knowledge of irrigation or plumbing but not required.
  • Willingness to learn is crucial though, as you will also be repairing irrigation lines or adding to existing systems.
  • You must be self-motivated, complete jobs/projects on time, be organized, punctual, dress and act in a professional manner and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Assistant Operations Manager

Job Description:

This particular role requires the candidate to wear many hats – responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Watering and maintaining plant material
  • Unloading and checking in deliveries with strong attention to detail and an emphasis on organization and accurate record keeping
  • Assist other teammates out in the field as needed
  • Completing daily shop chores including, but not limited to, cutting the grass, spraying weeds, keeping the landscape tidy, etc.
  • Ideal candidates will prefer working outdoors and be comfortable with getting dirty, lifting up to 40 lbs and going up/down ladders.
  • Model candidates will be creative, passionate, willing to learn and assist other team members. A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others is crucial.
  • Knowledge of seasonal flowers is a plus. Gardening and landscape experience is preferred. General “handyman” skills is a plus.
  • We all work hard here so you cannot be afraid of hard work.

General Manager

We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of My Flower Service. This position plays a key role in the success of this organization.

General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing team members and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring continuous profit growth. The idea candidate for this role will have strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations (ie. Pay bills, place orders, payroll, scheduling etc)
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth
  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
  • Set policies and processes
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance

Requirements and Skills:

  • 2 years of management experience required, 3-5 years preferred
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc)
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent delegation, communication and time management skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and hold employees accountable
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast paced environment
  • BSc/BA or higher in business or relevant field is a plus
